Café O’Play, Space for Active Fun

Café O’Play, Space for Active Fun

Kids love to play, and it is one of the best ways to make sure they are getting the exercise they need. IPACs or Indoor Play and Cafes have become increasingly popular around the country. These recreation centers go way beyond place spaces beside a fast food restaurant. They feature age appropriate activity areas for kids age 10 and under, as well as comfortable places for adults to gather while the children are engaged in active fun.

John and Carolyn Green have planned out Café O’play, primarily using their own funds. Café O’play will include a toddler center, a large, multilevel playground, an interactive EyePlay floor by Eyeclick, a GaGa Ball pit, a Café/Coffeehouse where parents and children can enjoy good food, and a retail store for Café O’play products. The center will also feature classes and planned activities, including music and theatricals featuring the kids who attend. They hope to add a lazer maze in a couple of years, but for right now that space will serve as a party room. Two other party rooms are also planned.

Cafe O'Play

As you might well imagine, this is an expensive process. The Greens have a working budget of $500,000, and it will cover most of the expenses. But building the play area features is going to come to just a little bit more than expected. Your contributions to this Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign will go a long way toward making a lot of kids and parents very happy – as well as netting you some very nice rewards. However, many of the rewards involve things like passes to Café O’Play once it is opened. If you live too far away to take advantage of this, your reward can be donated to a local church or charity to give to a family that might not otherwise be able to enjoy this state-of-the-art play space.

If you contribute $20, your name will be added to the Backer Wall, which will be on display at the Café O’play. For $50, your name will be displayed and you will receive a stylish Café O’Play t-shirt to show your support. Move on up to $75.00, and you will receive the previous rewards, plus a one-day, all-day, child’s pass. For $100, you will receive the t-shirt, get your name on the wall and get a five-visit pass for one child. If you contribute $500, your reward will be a three-month child pass – you pick the time – as well as your name on the Backer Wall and a limited edition t-shirt with the Café O’Play logo. $2000 will obtain for you a family pass for one full year. At $5,000 you are a Grand Opening Champion, invited to the Grand Opening – travel expenses paid from anywhere in the continental US. For $75,000, you will be declared a Grand Opening Champion, and Carolyn Green – an accomplished musician – will compose a song in your honor to be played at the Grand Opening.
